Creating a thoughtful themed Easter table is top of my to-do list for this years celebrations! And as the Easter decorations only make an appearance for a few weeks of the year, I tend to focus on key areas of the house to decorate, rooms where we spend the majority of our time.
After a bleak and cold February when the year seems to be in limbo between seasons, you can't not love to see those first touches of Spring and colour finally creeping back into our gardens.
My absolute favourite thing about decor in general is mixing old & new, and Easter is no different. I'll be mixing some old decor that I have collected along the years with a few hand-crafted projects, creating the perfect blend of pretty pastels, foraged branches & second-hand finds. Check out my latest Instagram reel, showing you how to create these cute bunny ear napkins in less than a minute each.
First things first, you need a base. Don't underestimate the impact a coloured tablecloth will make. Layer it up with some sheer voile or lace to create texture & interest. If you're feeling a little braver, a printed fabric with patterns & florals will have huge impact. Linen napkins in a contrasting colour will complete the look & allows you to get creative with the folding technique. Instagram is flooded with napkin ideas, whether it be bunny ears or bows - it's a fun way to get creative! Using a colour wheel is an easy way to figure out which colours work best with which, as colours opposite each other on the wheel are the ones that blend the best. (My favourites are light peaches & blues, aqua & pink, or lilacs & sage green) But don't get too bogged down with the rules! Easter is all about pastels, so the more the merrier on this occasion.
I do have a little collection of lovliness that I am selling on this Easter, which can be tweaked to suit Birthday celebrations or Mothers Day Dinner, Afternoon Teas & Garden Parties. Included in the pack - Cornflower blue linen tablecloth 90x90inch, 2 x panels of peach lace, which can be layered on top, 8 x light blue bows, 8 x peach bows, which you can tie together on your dining chairs and an added little floral detail, also included. A framed Easter print, and 8 x place names in matching colours to bring the whole look together. (Please note, these are items we have used at past weddings, but no longer use. They are in very good condition, but may show very slight signs of use. This has been reflected in the pricing)
Email me, amy@glitz.ie to purchase this package and I will get it wrapped up and on its way to you well in time for the Easter festivities!
Complete the look with an abundance of candlelight, so affordable at my favourite go-to's Pennys or JYSK, a bunch of fresh blooms & your table is fit for a feast!
